Mellieħa

A small town in the north of Malta is a popular tourist resort due to its close proximity to Għadira Bay, Malta’s largest sandy beach.

Close to the beach is ‘St Agatha’s Tower’, also known as the ‘Red Tower’, a fortified tower which was completed in 1649. From the Red tower you can see nice views of the bay and also the islands of Gozo and Comino.

The town itself is not so busy in the winter months however there are some nice restaurants in the area that can be enjoyed all year round, the best restaurants have a collective called the ‘Mellieħa Culinary Route’.
